Data Center Decommissioning
What is Data Center Decommissioning?
Data Center Decommissioning is your one-stop solution for safely dismantling, removing, and retiring outdated servers, networking gear, and heavy infrastructure from your facility.
Tearing down a server environment is a massive, complex undertaking. Instead of burdening your internal staff, a professional decommissioning service handles all the physical heavy lifting for you. This means your IT team doesn't have to waste valuable hours—or risk injury—un-racking heavy servers or figuring out transportation logistics.
Just like our standard ITAD services, we manage the entire process from end to end. There is no need for your team to manually pull hard disk drives (HDDs) or hire a separate vendor for security. We safely extract the equipment, perform certified data destruction on all HDDs to permanently erase your sensitive information, and responsibly recycle or remarket the enterprise hardware.
Our Decommissioning Process
Requirement Assessment
We assess your data center environment, asset scope (servers, storage, networking), security requirements, and project timeline. A structured decommissioning plan and execution scope are defined prior to commencement.
On-Site Collection
Our certified team works alongside your designated PIC to physically verify asset quantities and scope on-site. Assets are labeled before transfer of custody.
Certified Data Destruction
All devices undergo secure data wiping or physical destruction based on your security policy and regulatory needs. Processes follow recognized standards to ensure data is permanently irrecoverable.
Recycling & Responsible Processing
Assets are assessed for reuse, refurbishment, or material recycling. End-of-life assets are processed through approved recycling channels.
Certificate Issuance & Final Reporting
Upon completion, we issue official documentation such as Certificates of Destruction (COD) and Recycling Reports. These records support internal audits, regulatory compliance, and ESG reporting requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
